LIGHT QUALITY
Light Quality defines the texture of the photon beam and the resulting geometry of the shadow. In luxury design, this spectrum ranges from Hard & Directional (crisp shadows and high contrast) to Soft & Diffused (feathered shadows and visual silence) and Dynamic & Kinetic (temporal, moving light). It is the critical calculation that dictates the visual friction and structural articulation of a space.
Hard & Directional
Light originates from a focused point source, traveling in parallel rays until it strikes an object. This optical behavior generates crisp, razor-sharp shadow edges and intense contrast. It aggressively highlights surface textures (when raked) and commands immediate attention, heavily relying on the classical technique of chiaroscuro. By deploying hard light, we actively establish visual hierarchy and inject structural tension into the environment.
