The Surface Reflectivity
The physics of the surface dictates the behavior of the light. We analyze the material's micro-texture to calculate how it bends or absorbs photons. Does the architecture swallow light to enforce visual silence, scatter it to project warmth, or reflect it sharply to command attention? Engineering this interaction controls the physical volume and glare index of the room.

Light Quality
The Photon Texture
The character of the shadow establishes the texture of the space. We calibrate the visual field by controlling the geometry of the light beam. A hard, directional source highlights material anomalies and forces high contrast. A soft, diffused wash eliminates shadows to actively flatten surfaces and engineer a zero-friction environment.

Light Source
The Origin
The delivery mechanism controls the spatial hierarchy. We evaluate the physical entry point of the illumination. Does the light arrive via structural fenestrations, emanate invisibly from hidden coves, or present itself through expressive fixtures? Isolating the origin actively manages visual clutter and establishes the ceiling grid.
